It’s that time of year again to lace up your sneakers for your favorite 5K! Our 9th annual Big Backyard 5K presented by Kaiser Permanente is right around the corner on Sunday, June 3 and there is still time to register. Individuals, kids, groups, and teams can sign-up online through June 1 and in-person on race weekend.

The BBY5K is a fun event for the whole family that is also dog and stroller friendly. Come hang out before and after the race in our event area and check-out the great offerings that our awesome event vendors will have to provide. All participants will receive a super soft t-shirt, refreshments, a chance to win prizes, and the satisfaction of supporting one of your favorite regional park agencies…us!

The chip-timed course winds around the magnificent (but flat) Marymoor Park in Redmond, so it’s perfect for a PR. There’s also a free kids dash for those 10 and under and if we’re lucky, King County’s river safety mascot, Marta the River Otter, just might join us again for the dash!

We’d also like to give a big shout out and thanks to our 2018 event sponsors – Kaiser Permanente Washington, Harborstone Credit Union and Super Jock n’ Jill.

So, what are you waiting for? Register today as an individual or team at bby5k.com. Thanks for supporting King County Parks!
