Trail alert: Cedar River Trail

King County Parks crews will be adding gravel to the 5-mile-long soft-surface portion of the Cedar River Trail between SE 228th street and Landsburg Road SE starting Monday, March 18th. Trail users will be directed around the work but should be aware of intermittent delays and heavy equipment on the trail. The work should be completed the week of April 1st.

  1. Why? The conditions were perfect without this addition. Now the soft surface will keep my from riding my bicycle on it. I don’t get it, The county is short funds and the parks department decides to spend money on something that is not needed?

    1. The gravel re-surfacing work on the Cedar River Trail is being done to maintain the integrity of the trail bed, fill in potholes, sink holes and reestablish a crowned trail surface for improved drainage. We anticipate that the work on the trail will be completed the week of April 1.
