Parks hearts REI all month-long!

REI Partnership BannerThe Labor Day weekend (par-tay!) is upon us and everybody has vacation on the brain, which means many of us will be running amok with last-minute shopping lists or things to pack before hitting the road. If you happen to be running over to the Seattle REI Flagship store to check a few things off your list, you might just notice we’ve set up camp in their welcoming lobby as part of a month-long partnership to highlight the great hiking, trail running, mountain biking, REI Outdoor School classes and volunteer opportunities within King County Parks this fall season. Each week, we’ll highlight a different theme and a different member of our King County Parks ‘family.’ On deck for next week is ‘Kid Hiker’ and his adventures at Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park.

Plus, we’ll have a couple of King County Parks representatives tabling this Sunday (10am – 3pm) at the fireplace in the center of the store with loads of maps and information. See if you can stump them with a really hard question about any of our 200 parks, 175 miles of trails and 26,000 acres of open space!

King County Parks hearts REI for their ongoing partnership support – thank you!!
