What happens when twenty pianos are put in twenty parks for one month? Go to the KEXP/Seattle Center Concerts at the Mural tonight and find out! The winner of the Pianos in the Parks video contest, Mindie Lind, will be opening tonight’s Mural show at 5:00.
King County Parks was a proud partner in this program, hosting five pianos beautifully transformed by artists at Gage Academy of Art. Thank you to all the partners for making this fun summer happening possible – Classic Pianos, Gage Academy of Art, Play Network, Seattle City of Music, KEXP, Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Symphony, and Laird Norton Wealth Management. And we hope you enjoyed being able to take a moment to tickle the ivories in our parks and along our trails.
As we close out summer, our parks and trails will be a little less musical, but the groovin’ vibes and memories captured by our piano performers will be remembered for a very long time – visit Pianos in the Parks Facebook page to see the songs of the people who shared their tunes!
