King County Parks is partnering with Swansons’ Trees for Salmon program to support healthy salmon habitats in King County. Purchasing a living tree is environmentally friendly, cost effective and only requires a bit of extra effort. Look for the label ‘You Can Donate This Tree’ (pictured above) while shopping for your holiday tree. Return your tree by January 18th, and Swansons will donate it to King County Parks to be planted in one of our restoration sites. Pick from Douglas Fir, Noble Fir, Canaan Balsam Fir, Cupressina Norway Spruce, Narrow Colorado Blue Spruce and Contorta Eastern White Pine and more!
Conifer trees and other native vegetation benefit salmon streams by reducing surface water runoff, lowering water temperature and protect our streams and rivers from wind, sound and air pollution. Give the gift of giving and support local salmon!
