Fourth of July reminder: bubbles > fireworks

People of King County: please realize that you do not have fire resilient powers! Your plastic shields WILL NOT protect you. We want you to celebrate Amurica this weekend but please do it safely.

This is just a friendly reminder that it is ILLEGAL to set off fireworks in any of King County’s parks or trails. Help us protect these special places by following the rules.

Instead of lighting off fireworks, blow some bubbles! Just as good as fireworks, right?

Maybe not……

Here’s a better idea: go try your hand at Knockerball and become a GIANT bubble! The Great Carnation 4th of July Celebration is taking place this weekend with many activities at King County’s Tolt MacDonald Park.

What on earth is Knockerball? Knockerball is a game in which players get into big, inflatable balls and use them to roll, flip and jump into other players during a game of soccer. Two fields will be set up from 1 to 8 p.m. and is hosted by Duvall-based business TJ Sports. Go check it out!

Other activities such as laser tag, basketball and dodge ball will also be taking place. Stay into the evening and enjoy music, beer and county sanctioned fireworks!

Happy Fourth of July!
