Mobile mapping vehicle on Regional Trails through 8/25

King County Parks has authorized Transmap Corporation to traverse the Regional Trails System using a customized motorcycle. The motorcycle is outfitted with a remote LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensing array to create an inventory of trail surfaces and trailside assets, such as rest areas and trash cans.

Beginning on the Cedar River Trail in south King County on Thursday, August 3, 2017, the Transmap crew will then map the Snoqualmie Valley Trail and Soos Creek Trail on Friday, August 4 before heading out to the Interurban Trail and Green River Trail next week.
