Maury Island gets some WTA love

Last month, Department of Natural Resources and Parks Director Christie True paid a visit to a group of Washington Trails Association volunteers who spent a “working vacation” week building a new multiuse trail at Maury Island Marine Park.  Every summer WTA sponsors working vacation trail projects in the high country and wilderness areas of Washington.  This is the first time a WTA volunteer crew spent a working vacation on the shores of Puget Sound.  The crew camped on the beach at the Marine Park and could walk to and from the trail work site each morning and afternoon.  Last summer, King County Parks opened a walk-in and boat-in camping area on the beach at the Marine Park.

Thank you Washington Trails Association for all your hard work! Come back anytime!
