City of Enumclaw and King County Fair are bringing this year’s entertainment in the form of local talent, a LOT of local talent. We thought we’d get this post up in advance so you have time to prepare.
This year’s fair highlights the creativity and talents of local residents, including arts and crafts, music, and 4-H demonstrations. There’s also a car show, a BMX bike exhibition, Splashtastic water rides and climbing wall area for kids, live music and stage shows, plus roaming entertainers.
Food fanatics are covered, too. In addition to the traditional fair fare, there is a chili cook-off that is sanctioned by the International Chili Society that kicks off at high noon on Saturday, Aug. 14 with a homemade salsa taste test, followed by the main event: a head-to-head chili tasting at 3 p.m. Chiliheads will be competing for a top prize of $350. There’s also a beer garden for those 21 and older.
The fun takes place at the Enumclaw Expo Center, formerly the King County Fairgrounds, at the base of the Cascade foothills on the Enumclaw Plateau.
