On Wednesday, Jan 16, Parks hosted its annual employee appreciation breakfast at the banquet hall at our Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.  This is always a fun event for staff, particularly because it is the bosses who cook up tasty pancakes and eggs and serve the staff.  As we’ve got parks and trails spread across all corners of the county, most staff operate in small crews serving specific geographic areas, so the breakfast is also an opportunity for everyone to catch up with each other and get the latest gossip.

We also celebrated the anniversaries of several employees who have made considerable contributions to Parks and King County.  Celebrating 30 years of service with King County were Parks District Maintenance Coordinators Mike Crandell and Scott Snyder and Grounds Crew Supervisor Nick Halverson.  Parks District Maintenance Coordinator Karl Kostal was recognized for his 35 years of service.  Among the four of them, these guys have quite literally worked in nearly all of our 200 parks and 175 miles of trails and have a 125 years of collective wisdom about all things parks and recreation!

Many thanks guys for your hard work and contributions over the years and congrats!
