Field Notes: Count down is on for one more chunk of the East Lake Samm Trail

The count down is on: we’re paving like mad and ready to knock out another 2.2 miles of the 11-mile East Lake Sammamish Trail corridor! The Issaquah Segment, which closed in May 2012 for construction, is in its final stages. Paving is nearly complete (hurrah for good weather), and next up comes the finishing touches: fencing, signage, guard rails, benches, and landscaping.

Look for a grand opening coming this June!

Oh, and don’t worry, we won’t stop until it’s done – we’re already planning and permitting the next chunk, a 2.6-mile segment through Sammamish.
