Get on your mark for the Big Backyard 5K this weekend!

Big Backyard 5K presented by Group Health
A rolling wave of smiling faces and swiftly moving feet will wind through Marymoor Park this Sunday, June 2, for the annual Big Backyard 5K presented by Group Health.

Not registered yet? Save $5 with the procrastination discount code (nwr2013) and treat yourself to an unplugged experience that will clear your mind of annoying stress and produce those natural endorphins that make your body happy.

The 5K course is relatively flat; perfect for all abilities, kids and those competing to win prizes for finishing in the top 3 categories for male/female and split age groups. Looking for a fast time? With the sunny forecast lined up for the weekend you could forgo the leggings and opt for the more aero-dynamic short-shorts or bring your best dog friend for a little extra pull.

The kids will also have a chance to test their speed and endurance in the 1/4 mile Kids Dash Challenge as they chase ‘Bert the Salmon’ to their heart’s delight. Parents love this opportunity for their kids to spend up energy while the whole family is together and having fun.

A slew of more fun things will be going on throughout the event (wear your costumes for the competition!) and we have a great lineup of generous sponsors that helped make this event possible.

2013 Event Sponsors: Group Health – Harborstone Credit Union – Clif Kid – Whole Foods – Shoes n’ Feet – Aegis Living at Marymoor

**Online registration closes tonight at midnight, but you can still register in-person on the day of the race. Big Backyard 5K presented by Group Health
