Goonies, Foodies and more Movies!

Okay, so I’m no Dr. Seuss and I might be missing some iambic pentameter but this rhyme conveys a VERY important message because on July 8, three things are happening: Goonies, Foodies and Movies. Check out the full news release here.

Goonies: The popular First Tech Movies@Marymoor outdoor cinema series at King County’s Marymoor Park begins its 11th season on July 8 with “The Goonies”. Come see Mikey, Brand, Data, Mouth, Andy, Stef and my personal favorite, Chunk, as they hunt down the infamous treasure of the pirate “One-Eyed” Willy. Word on the street is that the real life Seattle Seafair Pirates are making a special land appearance. The event celebrates the 30th anniversary of this iconic movie which was filmed locally (well, almost) in Astoria, Oregon.

Foodies: Food trucks galore! Vendors such as Wicked Pies Pizza, Breads & Circuses gastropub, Crisp Creperie, Hallava Falafel, Los Chilangos and Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt will be supplying grub to satisfy all cravings.

Movies: Eight movies will be shown throughout July and August and for only $5 a ticket, you don’t want to miss these magical evenings. Families, couples and dogs are all invited to sit back and relax (bring some low-back lawn chairs or a blanket for extra comfort) while watching some of their favorite flicks. As a cherry-on-top of an already spectacular event, Redmond’s Knotty Yoga crew will perform aerial acrobatics at six events and on July 29 the Seattle Freestyle Frisbee folks will showcase their Frisbee moves.
