Upcoming Volunteer Events in King County Parks- Autumn 2015

PicMonkey Collage Volunteer

Volunteering with King County Parks is a great way to give back to the community, learn tangible skills, satisfy service learning requirements and enjoy the outdoors! Families, groups and individuals are all invited to get involved with our volunteer program. Here are the upcoming volunteer events with King County Parks’ this coming autumn:

  • Sept. 12  Skyway Park, Skyway.  9:00AM – NOON. Remove invasive weeds, join in the ongoing improvement of this lovely park’s natural areas. *Volunteer Coordinator Lina Rose.
  • Oct. 3 KC Greenhouse & Nursery, Maple Valley  10:00AM – 2:00PM. Come help weed potted native plants to prepare them for fall plantings in Parks’ restoration sites.  **Volunteer Coordinator Tina Miller.
  • Oct. 10 North Shorewood Park, White Center –  10:00AM – 2:00PM. Come help plant native trees and shrubs in this wonderful neighborhood park.   *Volunteer Coordinator Lina Rose.
  • Oct. 10 Cougar-Squak Mt. Corridor Park, Issaquah 10:00AM – 2:00PM. Help with planting in areas that have recently been cleared from invasives English Ivy and blackberry.  **Volunteer Coordinator Tina Miller.
  • Oct. 17 Cecil Moses Memorial Park, Tukwila 10:00AM – 2:00PM. Help with planting for continued improvement to this beautiful spot along the Duwamish River.   *Volunteer Coordinator Lina Rose.
  • Oct. 24  Sierra Heights Park, Renton  10:00AM – 2:00PM. Help with planting in areas recently cleared of invasive blackberry. *Volunteer Coordinator Lina Rose.
  • Oct. 24  Cedar Grove Natural Area, Maple Valley 10:00AM – 2:00PM. Help with planting in this large restoration site along the Cedar River. **Volunteer Coordinator Tina Miller.
  • Oct. 31 White Center Heights Park, White Center    10:00AM – 2:00PM. Help with planting in natural areas in this beautiful community park. *Volunteer Coordinator Lina Rose.
  • Oct. 31 Three Forks Natural Area, North Bend 10:00AM – 2:00PM. Help with restoration planting in this awesome site along the north fork of the Snoqualmie River. **Volunteer Coordinator Tina Miller.
