Trail Spotlight: Salmon Spawning!

It’s that time of year again — salmon spawning! If you missed out on Issaquah Salmon Days, have no fear. You can still get some good views of salmon spawning along local rivers from King County Trails.

The Cedar River Trail is an easily accessible and fun trail to view salmon. Park under I-405, at Liberty Park in Renton, or down by the Renton Rowing Center on Nishiwaki Lane. Take a stroll along the banks and see if you can spot some telltale fins scarlet fins working their way home.

With the fall colors lighting up the hillsides, and the brilliant red salmon spotting the river, it’s a photographers dream! Grab your camera, some friends and family, and hit the trail for a salmon spotting adventure.
