Trail Spotlight: Bringing the Eastside Rail Corridor to Life

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Enliven Wilburton event this last Tuesday, November 1 along the Eastside Rail Corridor Trail. It was a great success. Thanks especially to our partners and the surrounding community for coming out despite a blustery evening; it’s amazing what we can do when we work together.

If you didn’t make it, King County Parks, along with the City of Bellevue, REI, i-Sustain, Cascade Bicycle Club, Eastside Greenway Alliance, Puget Sound Energy, Scan Design Foundation, Cameron Catering, Daniels Real Estate, and one awesome band, Choroloco, came together to bring to life a portion of the Eastside Rail Corridor – a future regional trail that will run from Snohomish to Renton.

Talented crews from different work groups here at Parks pulled together to create a cozy café atmosphere. We reused existing materials from past events, REI graciously supplied catering, and Choroloco enlivened everyone with their Brazilian jazz. Bellevue Brewing Company delivered a few choice Northwest beverages, and everyone brought their vision of a new transportation future.

One of our crew even cobbled together this sweet rail-cart to help in set-up. Ingenuity at its finest!
