Trail Spotlight: North Creek

The North Creek Trail links the “locks to lakes corridor” of the Burke-Gilman and Sammamish River Trail with Snohomish County via the University of Washington Bothell campus and Bothell’s North Creek area.

This 2-mile-plus trail starts at the Sammamish River Trail as a paved trail in Bothell and continues into Snohomish County. A paved spur trail also provides access south to the North Creek Sportsfields and beyond.

North Creek Trail

Starting as a relatively well signed, paved trail, the trail quickly becomes a compact gravel trail that borders both sides of the North Creek wetlands area between NE 195th St. and North Creek Parkway N.

The trail then becomes a widened sidewalk at 240 St. SE and continues along Fitzgerald Rd. where it runs out just north of 228 St. SE. A couple of unique bridges span the creek and the maintained wetland areas make this short ride a quiet and natural trail for most of its length.

One of two trails that connect Snohomish and King Counties, the North Creek Trail, while mostly a local trail, is worth a leisurely ride to explore the northern boundary of our big backyard.
