New Denny Creek bridge now installed at Big Finn Hill Park South

Last winter, the Denny Creek Trail at Big Finn Hill South suffered an unfortunate landslide. A newly built bridge was wiped out, trees were uprooted and some of the trail was lost.

Since then, our Backcountry Trails Crew has been hard at work rehabilitating the trail. Yesterday, our crew installed the refurbished bridge- they were able to salvage the original bridge and spruce it up.

The finished project is fantastic!

Later in the week, steps will be installed on either side and some restoration work will be done on the creek. A culture of buttermilk and moss will be painted so that the surrounding area will grow fuzzy green with moss.

The bridge is now open and trail users are encouraged to check it out! Shout out to our wonderful Backcountry Trails Crew for being incredibly resourceful.
