Hop on a ferry and spend the day exploring Vashon-Maury Island in the “Heart of the Sound”. With 45 miles of shoreline, Vashon is a gem of the PNW. Visitors should check out the beautiful Maury Island Marine Park. The park is located on the east side of Maury Island, a peninsula of Vashon Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped properties located directly on Puget Sound with more than 1 mile of shoreline. Visitors can take in the views of Mt. Rainier, the East Passage and the Cascade Mountains and can even spot animal friends such as blue herons, bald eagles, Chinook salmon and ORCAS?!!!! Need I say more? Actually… I do. After hikin’ around, visitors should check out the new picnic shelter to add the cherry-on-top of an already spectacular park.
