Sun is out, school is out…now what?
Don’t worry, at King County Parks, we’ve got you covered with a great summer line-up of events happening in our parks for the whole family to enjoy. So, grab your calendar and fill it up with all the fun!
Big Backyard Movies
Bring your low-backed chairs, blankets and snacks, and join us to enjoy a relaxed evening watching a movie in the open air. Movies will be projected onto a 40-foot tall inflatable movie screen, so invite your friends, teammates, and family—we’ve got space! Movies are FREE and begin after sunset. Here is the schedule of Big Backyard Movies taking place in our parks:
- Ravensdale Park — “Shrek” on Saturday, July 6 (RSVP on the Facebook event page)
- Coalfield Park — “Up” on Saturday, July 27 (RSVP on the Facebook event page)
- Dick Thurnau Memorial Park — “Cine en el Parque Spider-Man” on Saturday, August 10 (RSVP on the Facebook event page)
Movies@Marymoor
The BECU Outdoor Movies at Marymoor Park kicks-off on Wednesday, July 10 with “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and will feature other movie greats such as, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Top Gun”, and “The Sandlot”, plus more. Watching movies in the big grassy field at Marymoor Park has become a summer favorite full of a variety of entertainment and great food truck options. The movie series is even dog friendly! Be sure to check out the event webpage for information on admission prices, parking fees and what to bring.
Cottage Lake Music in the Park
Music in the Park at Cottage Lake Park in Woodinville is a fun summer series that offers four family concerts in the park on Thursday evenings starting on July 11. The concert series is FREE and you can check out the line-up on the Upper Bear Creek Community Council webpage.

Timber! Outdoor Music Festival
Join us for a weekend of music, camping and outdoor adventures at Timber! Outdoor Music Festival at Tolt MacDonald Park, featuring Thee Oh Sees, Mark Lanegan, Haley Heynderickx, and more. The festival goes from Thursday, July 11 thru Saturday, July 13 and tickets are on sale on the event webpage.
Marymoor Park Concert Series
The summer concert stage at Marymoor Park is in full swing with another upcoming show that always brings in a packed crowd. Watch Slightly Stoopid perform on Saturday, July 14 and there is an even more jammed pack month of August full of great performances. The calendar of shows and information on how to purchase tickets can be found on the Marymoor Park Concerts webpage. See you for some moving and grooving under the stars!
CHOMP!
King County’s local food and sustainable living festival returns to Marymoor Park on Saturday, August 17! Celebrate all that is fresh, delicious, local, and sustainable at our 5th annual CHOMP!, featuring hands-on workshops, zucchini races, a farmers market, an upcycle bazaar, and so much more, including live music from Mavis Staples, Caspar Babypants and The Black Tones to name a few. This FREE event will inspire, entertain and feed your appetite for fresh, local and exciting food and sustainability. Follow the event on Facebook to stay up-to-date on all the CHOMP! news.
