Celebrating 50 years of Fairwood would not be complete without recognizing some of the many organizations that support Fairwood’s residents, families, and kids. So from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM we’re hosting a festival of fun with crafts, games, snacks, a first responders display, and a concert! All are welcome stop by, bring a picnic, and check out the exciting things offered by groups like the Fairwood Golf and Country Club, King County Library System, Taco Time, and more.

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Vendor Booths at Petrovitsky Park!
Crafts, Books & Fun! The King County Library2Go! Van will be out at the park. Find a new favorite book or check out an old favorite. The Library will also have crafts and activities for kids!
Fairwood Library Crafting Station– Get creative at the Fairwood Library’s crafting station from 10am to 2pm! Duct tape, markers, stencils, stickers, and much more will be available to make super cool bookmarks, fancy bracelets, and other fun and fabulous crafts. Come join us!
Comprehensive Dental– Ever sit in your dentist’s chair and think, ‘I would love to dunk these folks in some water right about now’? Well thanks to the good folks at Comprehensive Dental, and Dr. Lockett and Dr. Johnson, you’ll have your chance!
Life Point Church- For those with little ones, diaper changing/nursing stations will be available the entire day for families at the Fairwood 50 event thanks to Life Point Church.
Fairwood Golf and Country Club- Go Ahead, Take a Swing – The Fairwood Golf and Country Club will be out giving you the opportunity to practice your swing and raise money for the Maple Valley Food Bank.
King County Parks- Ever played Giant Jenga? Visit the King County Parks booth to play! Games, giveaways, and information about King County’s Big Backyard.
SafeSplash Swim School- Stop by and visit the folks at Safe Splash Swim School. They will have great information about water safety, swimming lessons and face painting for the kids.
Fairwood Chiropractic Clinic- While you are enjoying yourself at the event go visit our friends at the Fairwood Chiropractic Clinic booth. They will be providing free 10 minute massages and have great information about how you can reduce pain and stress.
11:30 AM – Any Time is Taco Time! Thank you to our sponsor Taco Time for bringing out their food truck and providing free samples. Just like Fairwood, Taco Time is a local institution. You can’t think about growing up in Fairwood without thinking about the first time you had a crispy burrito. Yum.
NOON – Concert in the Park!
Bring your lunch and get ready to rock! A big thank you to the R Street band for providing the music for our lunchtime concert. Starting at noon hear the winners of the King County Library System’s singing competition.On July 27, the Fairwood Library had several teens show up to sing at the Local Vocals teen singing competition with the hopes of being chosen to perform at Petrovitsky Park during Fairwood’s 50th Anniversary celebration. The competition was fierce, as there were many vocally-talented teens in the Fairwood community. After much deliberation, the 3 judges selected 13-year-old Kyra Hagen, an 8th grade student at Nelsen Middle School!
Then rock and roll with the local R Street Band, at 1:00 PM.

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM First Responders Show & Tell
A big thank you to all of our First Responders! From 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Ridgewood Elementary, just across the street from Petrovitsky Park, you will be able to see a fire truck from Fire District 40, a vintage fire truck from the Renton Firefighters Union, see a vintage King County Metro Bus, a King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, police cars, and lots more!
