Over the holiday weekend our staff, and an amazing group of volunteers, put in time in your Parks.
On Saturday seven ambitious volunteers installed 150 plants and spread 4 yards of mulch at Cedar Creek Park in Covington. Over three events volunteers have installed almost 700 plants at this former home site in the middle of the park.
On Monday, our program celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day by leading an environmental service project with 37 volunteers at Skyway Park.
Together we lived out Dr. King’s legacy of service to steward Skyway Park, build community and a healthier ecosystem for all to benefit from. We planted 150 trees and shrubs, picked up litter throughout the park and worked on removing Himalayan blackberry from the edge of our planting site in the south portion of the park.
Staff and 8 volunteers at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center spruced up the planting bed under the park sign in front of the Sheriff’s Storefront with infill planting and a fresh layer of mulch. What a Before and After!
